Grading
Shells are graded as follows:
| GEM |
Shells without blemish or flaw, shells that are adult and of average size. |
| F+G |
Shells with minor blemish or flaw that in no way detracts from the beauty of the specimen, shells are adult and average size. |
| F++ |
Shells with noticable blemishes which do not detract from the beauty of the specimen, shells are adult and average size. |
| F+ |
Shells with growth lines and nacre blemishes. These shells display well and represent good value for the specie. |
| FINE |
Shells with chip, juvenile or fresh dead. |
